ABOUT

Artificial Intelligence (AI) offers potential to address many major challenges in education and innovate teaching and learning practices. However, rapid technological advancements inevitably bring forth multiple risks and challenges, necessitating constant vigilance to ensure its application in the educational domain aligns with fundamental principles of inclusion and equity.

AI is among the latest trends in education, influencing the design and implementation of learning activities and assessments. In the field of education, AI has the potential to change the way students are assessed and can be used to improve student assessment outcomes. Despite its potential, when educators think about AI in assessment, they often consider its use for cheating in exams or conducting research papers. In reality, AI assessment software offers classroom benefits that extend far beyond the negative effects of cheating.

AI in assessment enables educators to process more information and data, rapidly develop new materials, and can be used in assessment to provide students with personalized assessment elements that can adapt to their needs.

The objective of this day dedicated to the use of AI in assessment is to enable practitioners and education and training professionals to discuss this current topic. Its aim is to promote a common understanding of the opportunities and challenges created by AI in education, as well as its implications for the fundamental skills needed in the AI era.
